On those special occasions, breakfast in bed is perfectly acceptable!
When thinking of Valentine’s Day, most people associate it with a fancy candlelit dinner all dressed up. But the morning can be just as romantic, especially if you treat your sweetheart to breakfast in bed. This surprise can be extra special, particularly if you are typically not one for eating in bed. Being love day, I wanted to create something decedent, a really beautiful treat to top it off. Voila, mini mason jar trifles were created!
I opted for a very basic combination, but the sky is your limit. There are hundreds of choices out there. Different granola, variety of yoghurt and an array of fresh fruit.
YOGHURT, BERRY AND GRANOLA TRIFLE INGREDIENTS
- Plain Greek Yoghurt
- Maple Syrup
- Nut Granola Mix
- Fresh Raspberries
- Fresh Blackberries
YOGHURT, BERRY AND GRANOLA TRIFLE INSTRUCTIONS
- Mix a bit of maple syrup into plain Greek yoghurt for a hint of sweetness.
- Mash a few raspberries with a fork until they are a puree, and mix in half of the yoghurt.
- Assemble in a glass cup or mason jar in the following order: layer of raspberry yoghurt, layer of granola, layer of yoghurt and then top it with fresh fruit and granola to your liking.
